About University Canada West
Established in 2004 as a fully-accredited, private Canadian university, University Canada West (UCAN)
offers an exciting new approach for students to obtain a university degree. Accelerated programs, based
on market-driven curriculum and a flexible model of delivery give students the ability to pursue an
education that suits their needs.
UCAN is a fully-accredited Canadian university that operates under the authority of the British Columbia
Ministry of Advanced Education, on recommendation of the British Columbia Degree Quality
Assessment Board (DQAB).
Our academic year is broken into four 10-week terms: fall, winter, spring and summer. This system
allows you to take more courses each year than you could under a standard 4-month semester system,
yet all our courses have 40 contact hours – slightly more than the standard university program. You can
get your standard degree in 2 years – a full 2 years sooner than anywhere else.
Online and Campus Programs:
- Bachelor of Commerce - General Studies
- Bachelor of Commerce - Technology Management
- Bachelor of Arts - Media & Communication
- Master of Business Administration
University Canada West has introduced a number of innovations to make university education more
accessible to both domestic and international students. This includes a Guaranteed Admission Program
that sets a 65% average as the prerequisite for admission to UCAN undergraduate programs as well as a
three-month term system to allow students to complete their degrees faster – in some cases, in just two
years – than they would if they were in other universities. |
